Los BAFTA Game Awards 2025 han revelado los juegos nominados para su próxima premiación, destacando una gran lista de títulos en 17 categorías, incluida la de Juego del Año. Además, el evento ha decidido no incluir DLCs en la categoría principal, dejando fuera a Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, de FromSoftware. Según un representante, este contenido solo era elegible para la categoría de Juego en Evolución, aunque tampoco logró una nominación allí.
Entre otras sorpresas, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth de Square Enix, un competidor importante en los próximos The Game Awards 2024, no figura en la categoría de Mejor Juego en los BAFTA, aunque sí obtuvo nominaciones en áreas como Mejor Narrativa. Por el contrario, títulos más pequeños pero destacados como Balatro y Animal Well lograron ser reconocidos en esta categoría principal.
Los BAFTA Game Awards mantienen su enfoque en celebrar la creatividad y originalidad de la industria, incluso en contraste con eventos de mayor perfil como The Game Awards, donde las expansiones y producciones masivas suelen dominar las listas.
